Design Thinking Prototype for Using Web 2.0 Tools

This is my initial design thinking prototype, completed as a story/news article from the future. It explains how teachers have found the answer to "finding creative solutions for planning and implementing individualized learning experiences and timely, effective formative and summative assessments for every student in the classroom," through the use of Web 2.0 tools for student collaboration and assessment. The article is split into two pictures, but is supposed to be read all the way through as if it were a one page document.
Here it is-

I appreciate and look forward to hearing your feedback!

Problem with Practice

Finding enough time to plan, assess, analyze, and create custom and individualized learning experiences for each student is an ongoing complaint and struggle. Moreover, the state-required standardized, biased, and high stakes assessments do not always show student learning as efficiently or effectively as evidence-informed and performed-based assessments do.

My goal is to find creative solutions to implementing individualized learning experiences and timely, effective formative and summative assessments for every student in the classroom.

All About Me

Hi and welcome to my blog for EC6106 (Designing Curriculum that Integrates Technology class through Lesley University).

My name is Val Darting. I live in Littleton, CO with my husband, son, and little dog. I have been married for almost 7 years, my son just turned one, and our little toy poodle is 11. Teaching is my passion, though I love to cook, dance, sing, play the flute and piano, walk, and read as well.

I have been teaching since 2004, though I have taken this past year off for maternity leave. I plan to go back to my wonderful school, Blue Heron Elementary, in August and am looking forward to seeing my co-workers and my 5th grade students again!

Many of us are at the end of our journey at Lesley University! It is hard to believe and so exciting. Congrats to you all! It is such a pleasure to work with each of you, and I am looking forward to all of the knowledge I will gain not only through this course, but also from each of you.
